Today is the Terry Fox Run: The 30th Anniversary

The Terry Fox Run is something I always do, even while living in Japan. And this will be the first year I really have to think carefully about whether I"ll run or not. I can do it, I think. But if I do so then I won't be playing basketball this Tuesday or Hockey on Wednesday due to the pain. And, I'll really be limping at work. Struggling to get in and out of the car, and even putting on my socks.

If Terry could run a marathon a day on one leg, then I can run on 1 1/2 hips. I'll give it a go.

Update: I went with my wife. I lasted 3 km. Early on it was pain every step. Funny though, I eventually managed to run in a way that dissipated the pain. And as I sit here now, it is not as painful as this morning prior to running. This 3k effort is a far cry from the 10k we usually do for this run.

In fact, truth be told, I don't go for runs at all anymore.
